No Insurance: Definition
All vehicles driven in Ontario are legally required to have insurance. If you drive your vehicle when the vehicle does not have valid insurance, or if you allow someone else to drive your uninsured vehicle, you may receive a summons from the police for driving with no insurance. Driving without insurance is a violation of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act of Ontario (CAIA). In Ontario, mandatory auto insurance requirements are $200,000 in Third Party Liability, Accident Benefits, Direct Compensation – Property Damage, and Uninsured Automobile coverage.
