Commercial Tickets
Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) tickets are traffic violations issued to commercial vehicle operators in Ontario. CVOR tickets can be issued to both a driver and their company, and can have negative consequences for both.

Traffic tickets we fight
Speeding
Speeding in a commercial vehicle is taken seriously due to the increased risk to public safety, the size and weight of these vehicles, and the potential for greater harm in collisions.
Drive CMV with minor defect
If a vehicle is operated with a minor defect that’s not reported, or with a minor defect that becomes more serious, the driver can be charged and the offence will impact the operator’s CVOR.
Drive CMV with major defect
Driving a commercial vehicle with a major defect is a serious offence that puts road safety at risk and can have severe consequences for both the driver and the operator.
Drive CMV with no license
Operating a commercial vehicle without the proper licence can lead to major fines, impoundment, CVOR penalties, and serious consequences for both the driver and the operator.
Operate unsafe vehicle
A vehicle is considered unsafe if it is in a mechanical or structural condition that poses a danger to the driver, passengers, or the public. This includes missing, defective, or faulty components essential to safe operation.
Drive with a speed warning device
It is illegal in Ontario to drive a commercial vehicle that’s equipped with a speed warning device (a radar detector or jammer), even if the device is not in use.
Failure to comply daily inspection report
CMV drivers are required to perform a daily inspection and complete a written Daily Inspection Report before operating their vehicle. The inspection must follow a set format and the report must be completed even if no defects are found.
Overweight vehicle
A vehicle is considered overweight if it exceeds any of its permitted weight thresholds, based on its permit, configuration, or route. Penalties can escalate sharply with the degree of the weight violation.
Distracted driving
Distracted driving charges apply whether you're moving or stopped at a red light or in traffic. Ontario has some of the strictest distracted driving laws in Canada.
